Riddhi & Dharam's Engagement at Utopia Banquets, Mumbai

As always our team set out ahead of time for Riddhi & Dharam's engagement shoot excited, cameras ready and hearts full of anticipation. The original plan was to kick things off with a beautiful outdoor portrait session at Riddhi’s home. But typical Mumbai in June month had other ideas. Just as we arrived the monsoon made a dramatic entrance pouring rain, grey skies and no signs of clearing. So we quickly pivoted and headed straight to the engagement venue Utopia Banquets, Mumbai and honestly it turned out to be the perfect spot.

Inside the venue, we got straight to capturing some beautiful moments starting with Dharam’s first look at Riddhi in her engagement outfit. The expression on his face said it all. These two have such a genuine connection and it was a joy to photograph them in those quiet in between moments. We wrapped up a lovely couple portrait session indoors before the official celebrations kicked off.

The couple made their entry followed by a small traditional pooja. Then came the main event the ring exchange ceremony full of smiles, emotion and cheering from friends and family. Post ceremony, the energy only went up! Riddhi and Dharam opened the dance floor with a romantic performance, followed by some incredible dance numbers by family and friends. It was vibrant, fun and the perfect way to celebrate their journey so far.

But the story doesn’t end there. Once the event at Utopia Banquets wrapped up, the skies had finally cleared so we circled back to Riddhi’s house for the outdoor portrait session we had originally planned. With the soft post rain light and a relaxed vibe it was the perfect setting for some candid and natural portraits. Then came one of our favorite parts of the day a spontaneous walking interview with the couple. As they strolled hand in hand, they shared their story with us and revealed that they’ve been together for nine incredible years! It was such a touching real moment full of laughter, nostalgia and a little bit of disbelief at how far they’ve come.

From a rain soaked start to a laughter filled with stories under the open sky this engagement shoot had it all.
