Viola & Akshay Monsoon wedding at Oleander Farms, Karjat
Some weddings are planned to perfection and some the rain decides to script for you. Akshay and Viola’s wedding at Oleander Farms, Karjat was one such story unpredictable, emotional and absolutely beautiful.
It was September, Maharashtra was declared a red zone and Karjat was drenched in endless rain. But between all that green, mist and madness the wedding found its own charm. Our team reached a day before the celebrations partly to breathe in the calm before the chaos and partly to explore every corner of the lush property. We did our usual recce, but what made that day special were the little moments fun interviews with the couple, jokes with friends and that feeling of something magical about to unfold.
Day two kicked off with a Maharashtrian style wedding bright, colorful and rooted in culture. From family to friends, everyone showed up in traditional attire, carrying the warm energy of the moment. By evening, the vibe shifted completely friends from across the world gathered outside the villa, clinking glasses, sharing stories and laughing over memories from a decade ago. It was less of a party, more like a homecoming.
Then came the final day. It rained like never before and we found ourselves rushing through Karjat’s narrow lanes towards Our Lady Of Fatima Church a quaint little place that felt straight out of an old postcard. Guests arrived one by one, umbrellas in hand, smiles undeterred. When Akshay and Viola walked in, the world outside could’ve been chaos, but inside that church, everything stood still.
The evening wrapped up with the reception music, laughter, heartfelt toasts and a dance floor that refused to slow down. Despite the weather, or maybe because of it, this wedding had a soul of its own.
A weekend full of rain, roots, and reunion that’s how we’ll remember Akshay and Viola’s celebration at Karjat.
